Friederike Otto
Friederike (Fredi) Otto is Professor of Climate Science at Imperial College London and former Director of the Environmental Change Institute at Oxford. She has written for the Guardian and New Scientist, and her work has been covered from The Times, Financial Times, and Telegraph to The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post. A regular commentator on broadcast news, she has spoken at major public events including the Hay Festival and New Scientist Live. She is the author of two bestselling books: Angry Weather and Climate Injustice – the latter a #1 bestseller in Germany – which explore the science and societal impacts of climate change. Fredi was named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2021 for co-founding and leading World Weather Attribution.
