Alex J. Kay

Alex J. Kay is Reader in Modern History at the Chair of War Studies, University of Potsdam. He specialises in modern Germany, genocide, and mass violence, and is the author of three books, including The Making of an SS Killer and the award-winning Empire of Destruction. In 2016, he was elected lifetime Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and his work has been translated into Polish, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese. Alex is a regular contributor to television documentaries, radio, and print media, including as lead historian and co-presenter on Channel 4’s Hitlers DNA: Blueprint of a Dictator.
